Meet Kate Bohannon
One. Georgia Peach.
Kate Bohannon was born and raised in Alto, Georgia on her grandparent’s peach orchard. At the age of nine, she began working to pack, sort, and sell peaches alongside her extended family. Kate understands how childhood memories are rooted in our foundations of faith and family. Her childhood is rooted in her Christian faith and red Georgia clay.
Two. Mother of Five
Jana, Elijah, Ella, Rebekah, and Jude
Kate Bohannon is a wife, daughter, sister, cousin, friend... but, most importantly she is a mom. In 2012, she became a single mom following her divorce. For five years and two months, Kate proudly wore the title of single mother! Kate recognizes the unique challenges, fears, and blessings single mothers experience. Her passions motivate her to educate, encourage, equip, and empower those she counsels and coaches. Kate is currently working to establish WOWSingleMOM as a nonprofit ministry dedicated to serving single mothers based upon Acts 2:42 (NASB).
Three. Second Marriage
Mrs. Kate Bohannon
On June 2, 2017, Kate married ‘Jack’ Jim Bohannon during a small ceremony in her parent’s backyard. She likes to say she has realistically married again! Kate will be the first to tell you that a second marriage is NOT the first marriage and should never be treated as one, especially in a counseling environment. She is still mastering the role of the second wife and has coined the phrase “second wife syndrome” to explain the confusion and awkwardness behind this unexplainable place she now finds herself. Kate desires to bring a more realistic approach to the counseling and coaching of second wives!
Four. Antique Collector
Jack and Kate have a deep appreciation for the past and currently collect antique Pyrex. Kate believes hobbies allow the body, soul, and mind to find peace and rejuvenation. On a Saturday afternoon, she can likely be found meandering through a local antique shop searching for the perfect piece to add to their collection. Kate encourages all of her clients to grasp the importance of self-care through the use of hobbies like antique collecting.
Five. World Traveler
Kate loves to travel and fully embraces her wild sense of adventure. “Everyone should own a passport,” according to Kate. She recognizes the value of extending our perspectives beyond hometowns and into the diverse communities and cultures of the world. Kate has held a koala in Australia, planted coffee in Panama, rafted through a cave in Belize, enjoyed steak in Argentina, and savored the churros of Mexico. Beyond the experiences, Kate has always cherished spending time with those she has met along the way. Her travel motto: “We should either be coming or going on our next trip!” Kate’s bucket list of travel includes completing all 50 states before her 50th birthday, Aruba, Cyprus, Togo, Rome, and Vieques, Puerto Rico.
